At Pwö Tèda, the river runs out into the sea. This is where the outrigger canoes are pulled up onto the shore and fish is bartered for food crops from up the valleys. And here it is that the elders have built a ‘Du’ fish trap, a barrier of rocks in which is buried the magic mackerel stone.
